JAY Z - FADE TO BLACK

DVD

Jay Z can’t perform, you read it here first, I know you read it here first because everyone else is too busy dickriding this DVD to tell the truth. Anyone that has never been to a good hip hop concert or seen some real performances will think this is the best thing since they bought the Linkin Park collaboration for $15.99 at HMV. Anyone that has ever felt the power of a live show will understand that acting like an inanimate objext, when you have just sold out Madison Square Garden, is ridiculous, no matter how many albums you sold.

ROCK FRESH

DVD

Rock Fresh chronicles the journey of 5 LA based artists that are making their transition between the underground graffiti art network and commercial galleries and graphic design. How you interpret this movie will largely depend on what graffiti means to you, if you believe that Graffiti is something that should be hung in galleries and done on legal spaces then this movie is something you will appreciate. If you are more of a traditionalist that believes that Graffiti is risk and train yards is where it should be done then I think you will cringe your way through the feature.

JUST FOR KICKS

DVD

This entertaining documentary was a major feature of the 2005 Resfest film festival — a global event that visited Melbourne and Sydney late last year. Tracing the history of the humble sneaker, directors Thibaut de Longeville and Lisa Leone look at its development from a practical athletic shoe to a must-have fashion item, and the influence hip-hop culture has had on the development of the $26 billion global market.
